As I started to really monitor my thoughts I could see how thinking negatively was lowering the quality of my life. Since I didn’t want to continue this pattern I learned to shift my negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Anyone can use positive thinking to improve the quality of life.
This is very easy to do. For example if you find yourself randomly thinking, “This is going to be a bad day,” immediately follow it with a positive thought, “This is going to be a wonderful and fulfilling day! If you have to keep repeating it over and over then do so until it sinks in.
This technique actually de-programmed me from negative thinking. In addition, something else unexpected happened. I started to notice that many people close to me were also negative thinkers. When I was around them I would find myself defending my positive attitude, which helped me to really internalize my new way of thinking. Gradually my life improved greatly and I started to meet and befriend people who also possessed a positive attitude.
Start practicing positive thinking. Learn to master control of your thoughts. Watch the positive results manifest in your life. It will take a lot of effort but no one, not even the masters, think positive thoughts all of the time. So don’t beat yourself up if you do have negative thoughts, just shift them.
